The 2018 Conservation Poster Contest topic is Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home. Richland County students in grades K-12 are invited to submit poster entries (14"x22") until April 11, 2018. Winners will be eligible for cash prizes.
The Richland SWCD and its partners will host a "Natural Enemies, Pollinators, and Pesticides: Beneficial Insects and Integrated Pest Management Workshop" in Orangeburg, SC from 6-8pm on 2/15/18. Supper will be provided and 1 CCH for pesticide applicators is pending. The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD) has selected 34 winning entries from Richland County K-12 students in the 2017 Arbor Day Youth Contests. South Carolina will observe Arbor Day on Friday, December 1, 2017.
Conservation Interns will assist the Richland SWCD in the planning and implementation of conservation programs for agricultural producers, natural resource professionals, local food system organizers, preK-12 students, teachers, and/or the general public. Interested candidates should apply by February 2, 2018.
